Program Description
The JOY Coaching Program is a transformative journey in life coaching, designed to empower you with the tools for both personal growth and a fulfilling coaching career. Beyond an introduction, it equips you with insights to foster well-being in yourself and your clients, enhancing self-awareness, life satisfaction, and professional relationships. This program helps you break down barriers to uncover your true potential, and as you grow, you’ll gain the skills to guide others in their path of self-discovery and fulfillment, making this journey of empowerment a lasting impact on both you and those you support.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the program, as a coach, you will be able to:
- Discuss the Role of Coaching: Understand how coaching can foster change and create balance, equipping you to act as a positive force in your clients’ lives.
- Facilitate Personal Growth: Employ, inform, and support clients in established tools and techniques that promote personal development.
- Practice Emotional Intelligence: Develop positive interaction skills through emotional intelligence, effective communication, and other relational techniques.
- Apply Business and Management Skills: Learn strategies to promote and brand yourself as a coach, allowing you to find your niche in the coaching market.

Program Structure
- In-Person Lectures and Training:
Led by Joumana Mansour, creator of the JOY Coaching Program, this one-week training (9 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily) provides an overview of core concepts, with a focus on reflection and discussion. This immersive experience fosters community among learners and prepares you for monthly group meetings and the in-depth online Moodle program at your own pace. - Case Studies and Client Interaction: Practical application is key. Over six months, you will work with two clients, recording sessions and creating a final case study that tracks their progress and demonstrates your application of coaching techniques.
- Discussion Forums & Group Meetings: Monthly online forums and group meetings create a space to reflect on and discuss coaching practices, share perspectives, and enhance learning.
- Mentorship: Two group mentorship sessions led by a JOY specialist, held three and six months into the program, provide personalized guidance and skill development.
Who Should Apply?
The JOY Coaching Program is designed for therapists and individuals aiming to transition into life coaching. Ideal candidates are those aged 24+ with a BA or significant life experience, looking to deepen their skills and start a rewarding coaching career.
Course Duration
You may complete the course at your own pace within 12 months. Extensions may be granted for valid reasons; otherwise, reapplication is required. Each cohort is limited to 20 participants per group to ensure focused support and personalized guidance from the JOY team.
Key Components
- Lectures: one week of in-person or online sessions led by the founder providing an overview of coaching principles, with an emphasis on interactive discussion and community building.
- Videos & Transcripts: Online videos with animated visuals convey program material, accompanied by downloadable transcripts for review at your own pace.
- Quizzes & Final Exam: Knowledge checks at the end of each unit, with a final comprehensive exam, ensure mastery of the material.
- Daily Self-Practice: Encouraged daily activities such as mindful breathing, positive affirmations, and journaling support ongoing personal growth.
Additional Resources
- Simplified Overview of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition (DSM-5): This adapted manual provides an accessible overview of the most common mental health disorders. Although diagnosis is outside a coach’s scope, understanding these conditions equips you to better support clients on their journey.
- Recording by Dr. Michel Soufia: A specialized session on the influence of nature and nurture on mental health, offering insights to support a deeper understanding of client needs.
